Hey y'all,
So this is my first post at this "blogging" thing so I'll give you a little intro of myself so you'll know what you'll get yourself into if you read more of this blog in the future. My name is Corey, or as some of my friends call me CoCo, and I'm currently in my last semester in college. I know what you're thinking, "Homeboy is a little late in the game to be doing blog stuff," but I figured to get a more in-depth understanding of social media I should use as many outlets as I can. Speaking of social media, I'm a Communication major at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, and once I graduate (we hope!) this May, I hope to go into the event planning field.
Now for a little background information about me. I was born and raised in an amazing city called New Orleans, Louisiana and went to middle/high school at Holy Cross. To get it out of the way, yes Hurricane Katrina impacted my life, no I didn't lose everything (thank God), and yes it made me stronger and the person am I today. But we'll save this topic for another day.
Like most New Orleanians, we take pride in three things: hospitality, food, and football. I'm one, in my opinion, the most dedicated and passionate Saints fans out there, so this is your heads up when I post about them. I might go into further details later, but let's just say when they won Super Bowl 44 on Fed. 7th, 2010 I experienced the greatest day of my life and the most emotional.
Another thing that I feel strongly about is music. I love music (like everybody else in the world), and I believe that I have a diverse taste in it when it comes to genres. But my favorite kind of genre is R&B; Usher, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Brian McKnight, and Boyz II Men are some the artists I listen to on a regular basis. However, none of them can compare to one artist in my mind because of his genuineness and soul he has in his music. That man is Ne-Yo and there might likely be a post on how I got this way about his music in the future.
The last detail about me I'm going to share is my favorite childhood idol, Spider-Man. I know, a 21 year old talking about Spider-Man might be a little dumb, but I think it molded me into a decent person because of the values that his trials brings.
The man things you're going to see in this blog is whatever I feel like. This might vary from some major event I find interesting or how I'm feeling about a certain topic. I'll try to keep it entertaining and fresh, but there will be some seriousness/realness as well. I look forward to letting you into this mess called my brain and hopefully you'll enjoy it and get something out of it.
Until next time,
Corey
P.S. I want to apologize for any grammar or confusing sentences. I've been sick and sleep deprived from allergies, plus it's kind of 6 am.
